The EU27 external current account recorded a deficit of 16.3 billion euro in the third quarter of 2007, as compared with a deficit of 24.6 bn in the third quarter of 2006 and a deficit of 14.6 bn in the second quarter of 2007.

In the third quarter of 2007, the EU27 external balance of trade in services recorded a surplus of 24.2 bn euro, as compared with a surplus of 16.7 bn in the third quarter of 2006 and a surplus of 23.6 bn in the second quarter of 2007.

These provisional data, issued by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, will be subject to revision.
