Among the Member States for which data are available for August 2007, construction output rose in nine Member States and fell in four. The most significant increases were recorded in the United Kingdom (+6.1%), Romania (+3.2%), the Netherlands and Slovenia (both +2.5%). Decreases were registered in Slovakia (-2.2%), Spain -1.4%), Portugal (-1.0%) and Sweden (-0.8%).
Building construction rose by 0.2% in the euro area and by 0.8% in the EU27, after 0.0% and -0.2% respectively in July. Civil engineering increased by 0.6% in the euro area and by 1.5% in the EU27, after -0.3% and -0.8% respectively in the previous month.
Annual comparison
