Monthly comparison
Among the Member States for which data are available for November 2010, construction output rose in eight, fell in four and remained stable in the Netherlands. The highest increases were registered in Portugal (+4.0%), Bulgaria (+2.6%), Poland (+2.4%) and Hungary (+2.2%), and the decreases in Romania (-4.6%), the United Kingdom (-1.4%), France (-1.3%) and Germany (-1.1%).
Building construction fell by 0.9% in the euro area and by 0.3% in the EU27, after +0.5% and +0.6% respectively in October. Civil engineering decreased by 2.8% in the euro area and by 1.4% in the EU27, after +1.1% and +0.8% respectively in the previous month.
Annual comparison
Among the Member States for which data are available for November 2010, construction output fell in eight and rose in six. The largest decreases were registered in Spain (-30.2%), Romania (-17.7%) and Slovenia (-16.0%), and the highest increases in Poland (+14.9%), the United Kingdom (+11.1%) and Sweden (+10.4%).
Building construction decreased by 5.7% in the euro area and by 0.7% in the EU27, after -5.6% and -0.8% respectively in October. Civil engineering dropped by 11.7% in the euro area and by 6.5% in the EU27, after -8.1% and -4.5% respectively in the previous month.
